Smartphone Link makes your Android phone the best thing next to your nüvi. It creates a seamless navigation experience between a compatible Garmin personal navigator and an Android smartphone enabling them to share information and Live Services.
The Best of Both Worlds
Smartphone Link allows your navigator and smartphone to share saved and recently found locations, where you parked, and your current destination. It also links your compatible navigator to Garmin Live Services, such as traffic, weather and fuel prices using your smartphones current mobile data plan.
Smartphone Link currently works with all Bluetooth®-enabled 2012 Garmin premium navigators. The current models are nüvi 3490LT, 3490LMT, and 3590LMT. All of these models, except the nüvi 3590LMT require a software update (version 4.40 or later) available at: www.garmin.com/myDashboard.
Garmin Smartphone Link is available at no cost in the Android Market and includes several free Garmin Live Services as well as premium subscription services.

Garmin Live Services provide the most up-to-date “live” information to your Garmin navigator using your existing mobile data plan. There’s no need for an additional data connection. Some services are included free when you connect to Smartphone Link. Others are available through subscriptions offering premium content and enhanced features.
